
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
dash of salt
2 tbsp melted butter
3 large eggs
3/4 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup granulated sugar
12 oz pkg. semi sweet chocolate chips
2 cups coarsely chopped pecans.
Preheat oven to 350F. Line the bottom and sides of a 9x13 inch baking pan with foil, leaving an overhang. With an electric mixer, beat 1/2 cup butter, brown sugar, flour and salt until coarse crumbs form. Transfer mixture to prepared pan, press firmly and evenly into bottom of pan.
Bake until lightly browned, 15 to 20 minutes. Let cool 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, mix eggs, corn syrup, granulated sugar and melted butter until well combined. Add chocolate chips and pecans, spread over crust. Bake until set, 25 to 30 minutes. Cool completely in pan. using foil overhang, lift from pan. Peel off foil and discard. Cut into bars.
